Just Great Feb 07, 2011
By Robin Landry
"Robin Landry, Author of "When I dream""
Everything you need to know to get to heaven is an easy to read, neatly laid-out book of information that anyone, of any level of enlightenment can pick up and start reading right away. So many New Age-type books need their readers to be up on the latest in UFO-olgy, ascension, angels, and channeling, so it's refreshing to find a book that pulls it all together. Gary J. McDonald book starts out explaining how to raise our consciousness. He explains Universal Laws, how our challenges are really blessings in disguise, how to effect change in our lives, what are thoughts and how the subconscious and memory work, and that's just the first section.
A blend of science and McDonald's own spiritual insight, this book is so easy to understand, leaving nothing out that a person might need to improve their life. Getting into Heaven is a nice idea, but living in the 'right now' is my goal, and this book gives peace of mind which is invaluable. Knowing how the world works gives us a choice on how to conduct ourselves in order to get what we want out of life.
What's really great about this book is how its laid out. You can pick any section of the book and just start reading. It's not a continuous stream of information built on what goes before it. If you already know one section such as Redefining the Trinity, you can move on to the section Merging Science with God with chapters such as; Quantum Theory and Thermodynamics, Creation of the Universe to Everything is connected. Or Merging New Age with God; Chakras and the Development of Consciousness.
This book is a large book, and easy to handle. Small paperbacks are hard to refer back to, but this book is laid-out well both physically and mentally that it has already become a reference book for me, which I think is what McDonald was aiming for. This book can take the place of whole sections of a metaphysical library which makes it invaluable to me since I have way too many books at the moment.

"Everything You Need to Know to Get to Heaven: Decoding the Bible - The Secret Behind 2012" provides answers to life's controversial questions behind God and spirituality, merging religion with science and new age metaphysics, and explains how to prepare for the prophesies surrounding the year 2012. McDonald speaks clearly in his unique style, and easy to read and understand. This author gives a wonderful broad perspective for people from all backgrounds and religions. This is not woo woo or scientific. I loved this book. - Devra Jacobs

Everything You Need to Know to Get to Heaven: Decoding the Bible - The Secret Behind 2012 Mar 22, 2011
By Anna LaFrance The sub-title should be removed, and I would probably have titled this "Christianity's Unanswered Questions". If you were raised Catholic and/or are frustrated by traditional answers and have unresolved questions about Christianity or the Bible, particularly about "The Fall", Adam and Eve, redemption, good and evil, sin, heaven/hell, and judgment, I recommend this book.
The author draws from the wisdom of world's spiritualities to identify several "Universal Laws"; explain the importance of viewing challenges and changes with a broad perspective; why our thoughts are important to be aware of for spiritual growth to occur. Especially interesting for those bogged down by guilt are the chapters on "Sin and Penance" and "Forgiveness". The author would be excommunicated from organized christian religion for his logic and suggestions on reincarnation. The section discussing The Trinity was confusing, as it swapped around traditional terms and introduced variants. He spends a large portion of the book on spiritual energy in the human body and controlling these for spiritual growth.
