it was not that bad ... Apr 14, 2008
By M. Lidl Whilst I would not see it as a guide through the emotional problems resulting a divorce for both children and (ex)partners, his bitterness makes the whole thing funny at times ...
Take a step back and see it as his way of dealing with the issue - what's bad about that?
I am bitter too: [..] Cheers

Pass it by. Jan 28, 2008
By J. Jones I do not recommend this book. It is written from a harmfully bitter standpoint. The letter to his children is appalling and for the author's agenda and benefit, not his childrens'. There are many good books on helping adults through divorce, helping children through parental divorce, and helping them deal with difficult and psychologically harmful parents. This book is not one of them. His bitterness is a detriment to his children who are already in the middle of the war. How do children reconcile their own identities when a father calls their mother (whom they love and who is a part of them for better or worse) "evil?" Bitterness is a natural part of the process of divorce, but to be moved on from, not taken on as a vengeful crusade at the expense of children.
