About Time! Aug 07, 2008
By Delta Girl On behalf of airline employees everywhere, deepest thanks go to
Captain Marshall for correcting distortions in the 911 Commission's
Final Report. By putting the events of 911 in proper order, using
official government reports, Marshall makes it clear that George W.
Bush knew the nation was under attack before he entered that
second-grade classroom. This book shows at least three areas where an honest inquiry should be able to find a smoking gun and connect it to warmongers who wanted to find an opening to invade Iraq. One of
Marshall's key contributions at the beginning of the book is to
explain in detail the tactical plan of 911, which in turn explains
why Bush never responded in a competent manner. A line has been
crossed and the time has come for a real inquiry, to be followed by
prosecutions. Hats off to a wonderful book.

Fascinating Book Aug 06, 2008
By Johnny I am a Captain for a major airline.
It was a clear day as I approach the Washington DC metro plex.
We were about 30 miles out when I spotted the Monument and downtown
DC. It occured to me that Marshall had a good point. For
the Raiders to pinpoint their targets on the money at 500 mph
was no cake walk. I have done the visual approach down the river
landing south at Reagan National hundreds of times, and it can be a challenge even for veterans. The Raiders must have had practice. Practice beyond just flying a small Cessna. This book will make you wonder.
I have read all the lore about Barry Seal, drug smuggling and Iran-Contra, Marshall's account is fascinating.
What happens in the dark of night in this country is beyond comprehension.
This is a book you won't be able to put down.

Iran/Contra insider ties hijacker training to US gov't Sep 16, 2008
By truth seeker Anyone conducting his own inquiry into the events of 9/11 knows that the WTC buildings could not have fallen at the near-free-fall speed, that fire could not possible have created the pools of molten steel in the rubble. The laws of physics cannot be broken. However Marshal begins his book by stating that any alternative scenario beside the "official story" can easily be disproved. despite his credibility with the 9/11 truth movement being crippled at the beginning of the book, it actually does become a good read for the reader who can suspend judgement and not throw out the baby with the bath-water. Much of the text is about the authors participation in the importation of drugs and exportation of weapons (Iran/Contra), but it turns out that many of the same characters resurface in the training of "the hijackers." These revelations are the strength of the book.

not to be missed Oct 28, 2008
By Mark H. Gaffney Some of Philip Marshall's ideas are clearly incorrect. The author is wrong that the Boeing 767s and fires brought down the World Trade Center. Even if the planes/fires had been sufficient to weaken the columns in the upper floors, the resulting collapse would have been partial and asymmetric -- not the perfect implosion we all witnessed. In 2008 there is overwhelming evidence that explosives were used.
The author is also wrong that the alleged hijackers piloted the planes. True, Marshall compiles an impressive amount of evidence pointing to Saudi involvement. He believes that Mohamed Atta and the other three alleged pilots received advanced pilot training by Arab-speaking Boeing instructors in the months before 9/11. Yet, we know that as late as August, 2001 Hani Hanjour was still incompetent as a pilot. Three weeks before 9/11 Hanjour couldn't even fly a Cessna -- so there is no possiblity that he flew Flight 77 into the Pentagon. I believe the available evidence points to use of remote control. See my book THE 9/11 MYSTERY PLANE (chapters 8 & 9) for a summary of this evidence.
Still, Marshall does the cause of 9/11 truth an important service by drawing attention to the Saudi connections, which the 9/11 Commission covered up. It is quite possible that the Saudis were involved in the covert planning for the attack, especially the recruitment of the patsies, most of whom were from Saudi Arabia.
Another weakness is the absence of footnotes -- which makes it impossible to check the author's sources.
Despite these serious flaws, I give Marshall's book 5 stars because the author is a commercial pilot and offers many insights into various aspects of 9/11. Marshall also claims to have flown with cocaine smuggler Barry Seal -- and I tend to believe him. His book offers what appears to be an insider's look at the Mena cocaine pipeline. The author has much to say about Iran-Contra Gate and the Bush crime family. His well written account is not to be missed.

A call for truth and justice Nov 06, 2009
By E. Rodin MD Captain Marshall has provided us with a pilot's opinion in regard to the 9/11 events. While I fully sympathize with his views, for those of us who have read the 9/11 literature there is no appreciably new information apart from the author's personal acquaintance with Barry Seale. This aspect of "circles within circles" of the government was interesting. The relationship of the House of Bush to the House of Saud and B.C.C.I has previously been extensively covered by Craig Unger. A much more detailed timeline of the 9/11 events is available in Paul Thompson's book which can be strongly recommended (The Terror Timeline. Year by year, day by day, minute by minute). The books by Griffin, Bamford, Tarpley, Chossudovsky and others on this topic are also important. Captain Marshall's opinion that fire brought the three WTC buildings down is no longer tenable and for these reasons I gave the book only three stars.
The cockpit information for the flying of jumbo jets which the author provides is useful, but it still leaves open the question how Hani Hanjour, even if he had had an opportunity to train on actual 767s and 757s as suggested in the book, could have managed that phenomenal descent and accurately hit the Pentagon, without scorching the grass. As the author writes, "I have 15,000 hours in heavy jets, and I would have a damned hard time matching that performance, even in a peaceful setting." This begs the question how this was done and the country deserves an answer.
Captain Marshall is correct when he describes the current plight of our airline personnel who have been robbed not only of the major portions of their salary and pension funds but also dignity. He has not mentioned the increased working hours and thereby fatigue levels. Some of our pilots are now sleep deprived by heavy scheduling and a major disaster can be expected. We will probably never be told what happened in the cockpit of the wayward NW flight which overshot Minneapolis recently but it is bound to be associated with the mentioned problems.
Many of us who cannot believe the official 9/11 explanation are aware of the theory that homing devices may have been used to guide the jets to their destination. It would be helpful to hear from Captain Marshall to what extent the software of the onboard computers can be overridden on these airliners and programmed to respond to these on ground devices. This is a technical question which he has not addressed but if he were to consider an updated version of his book this information should be included.
The suggestion that we write to our representatives and demand answers is unfortunately of little use and I speak from personal experience. You will receive a computer generated answer and your letter is automatically relegated to the delete file; but probably not before your name and e-mail address are duly noted and possibly entered into the databank which nowadays watches all of us.
The September 11 catastrophe was such a complex event that no one person will be able to get to the truth. What we need is that the experts in the fields of structural engineering, physics, chemistry, intelligence, aviation and others publish their opinions which are limited to their field of expertise. Subsequently an international conference could be convened where these experts publicly defend their views. This would attract mainstream media attention and the 9/11 truth movement could no longer be regarded as a "sideshow of kooks." We cannot hope for whistleblowers to come forth and tell us of their critical role in one of the multiple aspects because they would be signing their death certificate in so doing. A conference of the type suggested could then lead to an international criminal court investigation that has subpoena powers. A massive crime was committed and the guilty have to be exposed if we want to prevent a recurrence.
