Fast days Jun 20, 2009
By Chris Herr I became very excited when I learned Joel Jackson had written a book about Chrysler Shelby automobiles. I owned and raced a Shelby Can Am for seven years and although I had never heard of Joel, I did meet and/or talk with many of the people mentioned in the book. I can't vouch for the accuracy of the book although based on my judgement it is completely believable.
This book is an interesting read, especially if you can relate to Carroll Shelby, Chrysler racing or are just a racing nut. It validates my opinion that Carroll Shelby is 40% legend, 40% salesman and about 20% automotive engineer.
My only criticism of the author is that he finds fault with others on almost every page. It would be interesting to hear the other side of the story. Joel's writing is funny and colorful and I thank him for writing it.

A "Must Read" For The Shelby/Dodge Enthusiast May 27, 2009

"Buyer"
I just received my autographed copy of "Fast Days" by Joel Jackson. As the proud owner of several of Mr. Shelby's CAN AM cars constructed by Joel and his crew at Shelby and Chrysler/Shelby I could not wait to read about what really happened in those glory days in Whittier and Gardena, California.
I personally know many of the personalities mentioned in this book and can say with some degree of certainty you, as the historian/enthusiast/owner/driver, will enjoy Joel's reverence, respect, colorful, disdainful, (sometimes)critical and honest account of how it all came about. Although I do not agree with some of the harsh treatment given to my friends, I respect Joel's overall effort within these pages.
Don't miss out on this book!
