A Good Read Dec 18, 2009
By Brian K. Daniels "Feet First" grabbed my attention with the first sentence, in which I learned it was to be a tale of murder, and held it to the last page where "who-done-it" is finally revealed. The hero has a pleasingly calm and collected character - not a given as he scrambles through one life threatening situation after another. His adventures take him from England to Russia and the story involves action in Switzerland, the Bahamas and Missouri. Throughout, the scenes, which include back-stage ballet rooms and race-car ciruits, are entertaining, colorful and packed with interesting detail. The broad spectrum of characters is equally fascinating as is the web of finacial jiggery-pokery on which the tale hangs. Gripping and a good read.

The dancer as detective Nov 06, 2009
By James T. Mcilwain Feet First is a fast-paced tale of murder, romance, and international financial intrigue in which most of the major characters are associated in some way with a London ballet company. And a fascinating set of characters they are. One senses that many are painted from life by an author whose own world has intersections with transnational business and ballet. The protagonist, Rod Francis, is the recently retired, lead male dancer of the ballet company whose exploits as an amateur sleuth, race-car driver and ladies' man provide the substance and much of the spice of this story. Among the caste of supporting characters my favorite is Xanthe McGinn, an irrepressible, free-lance, African-American photographer, who takes no prisoners. Feet First is hard to put down as one is drawn deeper and deeper into this exotic, yet palpably human, world created by Robert Jansson.
Brilliant characters, great plot! Feb 06, 2010
By Gigi I love reading crime and thrillers and this did not disappoint. I would guess the author has mixed with people in the arts and dance world as the characters are so true to life and entirely believable. The location descriptions were great - I really felt them come to life and the plot kept me reading from start to finish. The "mystery" remaining that way to the end. I hope this is not the only time we will meet Rod Francis as he makes a great "hero". I bought the kindle version which is great value for money too!
