Fight City Hall and Win: A Primer For The Politcally Naive

Born in Queens, Ms. Reed and husband Fred now retired live in Seneca Knolls, NW of Syracuse. Their family of four children Larry, Polly, Tom and Fred now number two foster daughters, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In the 1960's the family published The Knolls; a monthly community newspaper. During the 1980's Dolores regularly contributed to The Impartial Citizen, a bi-monthly newspaper. Mrs. Reed spent more than forty years as a political activist and leader in the Democratic Party, serving in such posts as Town Chair, President of the County Women's Club, member of the State Women's Steering Committee, State representative to the Nat'l Federation of Democratic Women's Clubs, and on the State Party's affirmative action committee writing the rules for the Presidential Primary. In 1980 Mrs. Reed became the first woman veteran to seek Congressional Office, running in New York's 33rd district. As a candidate she advocated for President Carter. The author holds a B.A. Degree from Syracuse University, attended Goddard College in Vermont and studied Law at LaSalle in Illinois. Dolores is a member of the American Legion, Military Women and Friends, Inc., the Woman's Army Corps Veteran's Association and Women Veterans of America. She is a Charter Member of the Women in Military Service for America Foundation in Washing-ton, DC and is an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville, NY.
