Amazing Story May 01, 2009
By E. Nickels What a wonderful book. A true inspiration. Jimmy's story forces you to think about life's priorities...And to realize what a difference one person can make when they channel their energies into creating a better world for others. His persistence, beginning early in life, should motivate many to never give up in reaching for their dreams!

An awesome read. What a story! If you can't get inspired by this guy and what he has gone through then you have a problem. He has accomplished more in life than most of us can even imagine.

Inspiring and Beautiful Jun 01, 2009
By P. A. Murphy This book is an inspiring and amazing journey through the life of one fabulous man. Jimmy showed us how very precious each day we have on this earth really is. This book teaches us what some many of us do not know about this terrible disease (ALS). But more, this book is about family, friends and most of all the value of life. It contains quite a mix: Notre Dame, the business world, sports (especially golf), some funny antics, but most importantly friendship and true love. The Author Chris Steven (whose own story is amazing) did a great job honoring his friend. Through this book Jimmy and his fight to raise money towards finding a cure for ALS and Cancer will live on. God Bless You Jimmy!

True Inspiration May 27, 2009
By C. Ensley For anyone in love with sports, with an underdog, with success based on hard-work and an innate drive, this book is for you. This book provides a close look at how fragile life is and how important it is to give to ALS and other key medical research. Jimmy's life as relayed by Chris Stevens (who himself has an interesting and heart-warming story) is relatable to anyone who picks up the book.
Great biography! Dec 28, 2010
By D. Adams This book is a well-written biography about a person, Mr. Culveyhouse, who lived a wonderful life and died from a terrible disease. The book was written by a friend as a gift to Mr. Culveyhouse, but there is much we can all learn from the life he lead. Golf enthusiasts will especially enjoy the golf stories!
If you found this book the way I did, by searching for books about ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease, you will find this book does not focus much on the disease. Jimmy's symptoms are described and the disease is explained, but there is not much detail about the specifics of caring for someone with ALS in case that's what you are looking for. I'm very impressed by Jimmy and how he chose to spend his remaining time by raising money for ALS research which couldn't benefit him. It's a great book and the money raised through sales will benefit ALS research. BUY THE BOOK!!!!!!!!
