Mary Ann Easley's Best Book! Apr 11, 2009
By John T. Knox With "Finding Jade Mountain," Mary Ann Easley takes her storytelling to a new, exciting level. As a middle school teacher, I highly recommend all of her previous work, but powerful elements in "Finding Jade Mountain" make this gripping tale her best book yet. The look, the feel, and the sound of the Arctic environment are all wonderfully evoked. I especially like how Easley skillfully weaves into her strong narrative the culture and tradition of the Inupiat people. The characters are vividly drawn and the sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes mysterious dialogue and interaction among Joe, Hector, Oolik, Allison and little Pakak are always fascinating! As a writer of young adult novels, Mary Ann Easley is clearly hitting her stride.

This Book's a Gem! Mar 27, 2009
By Diana J. Ewing MaryAnn Easley is a gifted writer whose imaginative storyline and vivid action make Finding Jade Mountain as compelling as anything on the young adult market today. I especially like the way she turned the harsh Alaskan setting into a multi-faceted character, adding to an already colorful and well-drawn cast. The book is fast-paced yet takes the time to give the reader a wonderful glimpse into a different way of life.

An Exciting Arctic Adventure! Mar 25, 2009
By Nikki Y. I loved MaryAnn Easley's "Alone in the Ice World" so I was ecstatic to see "Jade Mountain" had come out. I could not put it down! Easley's talent for bringing together a spellbinding backdrop with characters who jump off the page kept me hooked all the way through. "Finding Jade Mountain" is a triumph for YA literature and I can't recommend it highly enough!
