Fire-Hall Revisihted Oct 07, 2006
By william oehlke I received this book as a gift and found it very sentimental and honest. The experinces the author describes are reflective of his concern for his community and his firemen. It was good reading.

Frank honesty. Oct 11, 2006
By Julie R. Neidlinger
"From the Lone Prairie"
Bill Oehlke is a member of the writer's group that I am also a member of and his love of the subject matter in this book has always been bracketed by an honesty about life as a firefighter. His writing is open and direct as he tells the stories that make up the life of a firefighter in a small North Dakota town.

A writer on fire Oct 11, 2006
By Corrine Kenner
"Corrine Kenner"
Bill Oehlke's passion for his calling is evident in all of his writing, and his reminiscences of life as a Midwestern firefighter make for compelling reading. It's interesting to learn how a young man rose through the ranks as a husband, father, and firefighter in a small North Dakota town -- and how he faced a series of life lessons that transformed him personally and professionally. Bill Oehlke is a true community leader, and his book is one of the most notable publications to come out of Devils Lake.
