Fasinating glimpse of America from a different perspective Feb 17, 2008 Perhaps the character types mentioned in some of John Steinbeck's novels are closer to reality then I thought after reading about some of the people that picked John and my cousin Libby up while they were hitch hiking. John and Libby not learned more about America in their travels, they discovered themselves and the miracle of their partnership together.
Great Adventure! Oct 27, 2007 I met the author at school, where I was teaching and he was giving a presentation. Through our discussion afterwards, being a writer also, I found out about the book and ordered it.
I got it and, despite being very busy, finished it in two and a half days. It was a great adventure and nicely written. I wanted to keep reading!
Great book and an inspiring true life tale of love, trust, and determination!

First Impressions Sep 28, 2007 I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I found truely entertaining. This book was worth every dime! I think it would also make a wonderful gift.
Finding the Mountain Sep 24, 2007 John Riger has given us a chance to ride along with him and his bride on the trip we never dared to take. As if thumbing beside Libby and John we experience dangerous places filled with earthy characters. We cruise for three months from coast to coast, Canada to Mexico, and crisscrossing the country before landing, weathered and broke, to gaze at the magnificent Mt. Sopris in Carbondale, Colorado. John is a natural storyteller who grabs our interest with adventure, humor, love and thoughtful explorations of life's meaning through this true, unforgettable journey to a place just right.
