poetry and astronomy learning Apr 19, 2010
By Conchita Adsuar I read the book today and was more than delighted to see how state of the art animation can be combined with the basics of poetry and also with Einstein's theory of relativity; wormholes in an engaged context. For real learning to take place, we all know that teachers need to master "engagement" with its students in the context of the theme discussed.
This book is a clear example of engagement in terms of physics/astronomy (see the endnotes) within the plot of the story. Also, it builds upon last night's first grade homework of taking a poem and underlining the rhyming words. When I read it to my first grader tonight, we will have a lot to talk about.
Highly recommended. Can't wait for the next episode.

It starts like the shuttle on the launch pad with fumes changing to sparkle, ignition and roaring of engines. It is a fabulous find. The images are so full, you discover more on every look. The story is unique and my 8 year old nephew loved it.

It starts like the Space Shuttle on the launch pad, with light fumes changing to sparkle, ignition and roaring of engines. It is a fabulous find. The images are so full, you discover more on every look. The story is unique and my 8 year old nephew loved it.
All I can say is WOW! Jan 06, 2010
By Bruce Rader This is an imaginative and wonderful story. This is the kind of product that should be on TV. It would make a great mini-series. The author uses a lot of unique imagery in addition to the creative storyline. If your little one is into astronomy this is a no brainer.
