An Inspirational book Mar 09, 2007
By Peggy Hurd When I look at the photographs taken in this book it stirs many different emotions in me. I am saddened by the evidence these photographs display concerning the lack of funding, care, and neglect these children endure. However, seeing a smile on some of the children, no matter what their circumstances, completely melts my heart. This book made me take a moment to acknowledge how much I appreciate the many blessings in my life, especially my children. I have a great deal of admiriation for someone like Mike Nakonachny that extends himself the way he has by making the journey to Ukraine, taking these photographs and sharing them with the world. A true act of unselfishness, kindness and humanity.
Forgotten Faces Mar 07, 2007
By Marilyn Huber This book expresses both in photography and poetry the plight of the orphans in Ukraine. The book conveys its message without being overly lengthy. The child's world is displayed in bright full-page photos. An excellent book to use in raising awareness of the orphans in Ukraine.
