D’anne Hunter never understood her father. Near the end of his life, Malore Hunter gives his daughter an account of his life. She tells of an epic tale of how her father took a part of the second civil war in the far off 23rd century and tells how her torn family, that was caught on opposite sides of a war, was reconciled. As D’anne wrote, she learned the true meaning of forgiveness and compassion, as her fathers once darkened soul finally would explain how he became a better person. Malore tells how he and his brother Jahnus, were pulled back in time to the year 1983 during a failed assassination attempt on the President of the United States by an off world race known as the M’gorl. While there, Malore and Jahnus meet Alexxa Reed, who was also taken back to the same year with a sabotaged aircraft responsible for the rip in time. With the help from Jon Morris and a top secret government project named Chronos, they find they are brought together for various reasons such as why the M'gorl are still illegally trading thier technology for pure human DNA and what role the Hunter family plays in all of it.
