Wonderful True Story! Aug 11, 2008
By wyzgirl514 "Francis, Not the Saint" is an intriguing story about the author's life growing up during The Great Depression. It will be hard to put the book down once you start reading it - it is very, very interesting! The fact that it's a true story makes it a wonderful read and helps one realize how fortunate they are to have a normal life growing up! Her father was far from being a saint and struggled with many issues. Her mother tried to keep the family strong during all the adversity. Buy a copy today - you won't be disappointed!
Wonderful True Story Jul 13, 2010
By K. Troy I am not normally one for non-fiction but this book grabbed me from the first chapter and I could not put it down. The story of her life is one that reminds you what life was like during The Great Depression and that it was really not that long ago. The author's father had many faults and this book shows how hard it is on the kid's life and it does not have to affect the way they are as adults. One has to see past a parent's lies and deceit and grow up to be a better person. The author teaches one that forgiveness can come but one will never forget. A read that I will not soon forget.
