Good value model book... Aug 04, 2011
By B. Kimball This book is printed in full color. Though the pages are not glossy, I don't feel this has degraded any images within. This is similar in print to some comic book graphic novels you may have. I also expect this helps keep the price low, which is a plus.
This book covers dioramas for subjects such as: Buffy (The Vampire Slayer), Terminator, Dinosaurs, the (Tumbler) Batmobile and Batcave, Flintstones / Dinosaur, (Monogram) Dracula, The Wolfman, Predator, "The Crusher" figure, the Munsters, and (my favorite), a resin HG Wells Time Machine.
Each project chapter has written tips and ideas. Some of the techniques will save you time, since you can see what works (or may not work) with different mediums. Including plastic, resin, styrofoam, wood, sculptamold, Foam Coat, putties, glues and more. If you like to create dioramas to go with your model projects, this is a book you want to add to your library. I also like the fact that there is a lot of scratch building going on here, rather than "out of the box" accessories. Things you will want to try yourself.
Along with the building, there are plenty of tips and ideas on how to paint your project. I've been building models for 40 years and even I learned some new things. :-)
