From Mena to Seymour: Crossing Many Bridges

Humor, wisdom and street-smart savvy describe the personal journey taken in From Mena to Seymour. A first generation Russian Jew born in Brooklyn, Seymour’s adventures are irresistibly engaging. Written as short vignettes in the first person, his stories move from a precocious kindergartener seeing the world through adult eyes to an astute businessman witnessing the end of an era with the optimism of youth. As a soldier in Korea he sees things as they are and speaks out. He brings racial integration to a factory in the South & allows compassion to set the tone in his factories. From student to soldier, apprentice to boss, each story resonates with our collective experience. Seymour does exactly the things we all do; but with a call-it-as-it-is, honest, straight-ahead attitude that reveals the humor and humanness we all share. Reading From Mena to Seymour we travel with Everyman, accompanying this one man making his way through 75 years of incredible change in the landscape of America.

5Great read, takes you back through time  Jun 16, 2009
great read, Seymour's book has it all - life experiences, humor & wit and historical happenings of life growing up in Brooklyn, NY in the 30's. I've passed my copy along to both my mother and friends, neither can put it down for long. Entertaining and engaging for all ages!
