To the point Jul 30, 2009 This book really gets to the point of the GED Exam.It make you understand all the sections of the exam and what to expect. Passed all my exams on the first try and I've been out of school for years!

User friendly study guide Jul 15, 2009 This hefty but easy-to-read book addresses the fears and challenges of the adult who wants to earn a GED. Using visually appealing boxes and graphics, the author anticipates where the student is likely to stumble and intervenes with student-centered activities to build confidence. The book opens with 5 detailed chapters on the psychology of success, including setting an achieveable goal, making a commitment, maintaining motivation, identifying obstacles, and using a variety of thinking strategies to solve problems. Subsequent chapters take each of the required GED subjects in turn, identifying the types of questions on the test and the skills needed to get them right.
Each section provides many options for student interaction, including sample questions and opportunities for review and application. The chapters on test-taking (Chap. 5) and reading (Chap 7) focus not only on how to get the right answer but how to get better at thinking. Key concepts include how to to apply and synthesize information, how to identify tone and inferences, and how to avoid common mistakes.
Designed to supplement the GED Academy's on-line study program, which boasts a money-back guarantee, this book provides tips and tools for improving performance in each GED subject area. Using this book as a study aid would seem to assure success on the GED exam.

GED Success May 27, 2009 This is the missing book on GED preparation. It covers things not found in the other GED study guides. I used it almost exclusively in our GED classes with great results. It has chapters on how to study best, how to take standardized tests well, how to set and achieve goals and how to think clearly. Highly recommended.
