5Perfect for your young dancer!  Jan 23, 2010
By Kate "mom of 4 in nj"
I have read this book and I think it is adorable. The format is very cute- looks like a vintage children's book. In a world where children are growing up too soon, it is great to see a child dealing with a youthful issue- how to make the tapping sound of tap shoes. I highly recommend this for younger, preschool aged- maybe 1st grade, kids who aren't ready for a book like "Tasha the Tap Dance Fairy" in the Dance Fairies series. I just ordered a copy for my niece.

4Charming story for the youngest readers  Mar 16, 2010

This is a charming read that will hold the attention of young readers. It is also the perfect tale to be read to pre-readers.

2children's book  Mar 08, 2010
By Lisa A. Stein "foo's mom"
I was excited to buy this book for my 4 year old, since she's been taking tap lessons and seems to love it. And, while there are many books on ballet, there aren't any on tap dancing. However, the girl ends up putting thumbtacks in her Sunday-best shoes to turn them into 'tap shoes'. There aren't too many people who even know what flat thumbtacks are anymore (everyone uses push-pins) and I would scream if my daughter decided to put little tacks in her shoes and dance around the house. So, needless to say, I was 'underwhelmed' by the content and story of this book. And, so was my daughter. She usually wants to read a story over and over. And as of yet, she hasn't asked to read it again.
