41930s one-room schoolhouse---when life was simpler  Mar 16, 2009
By Elisabeth H. Bantz "bantzbooks.com"
Closely resembling the author's own experiences, this trip back in time will appeal to young and old alike. Ginny is the middle child in a family of eight born to a farmer in Southern Illinois. Usually finding herself as the only student in her grade, she made the most of it by learning all she could as the teacher taught the classes around her. Their one-room school had wiener roasts and contests, plays and sports. She played baseball without a glove, and even joined the boys basketball team. But she had this dream, one she knew could never happen.
