God Go With Them

AUTHOR'S ANSWER TO EX SENATOR BOB KERRY’S EXCUSE FOR THE ATROCITIES COMMITTED IN VIETNAM. 'Do 1 feel any sympathy for Bob Kerry? I do not. He made his choice, as a volunteer, to become one of the best trained killers in the world, and rode his medals into a political career. In contrast, at the same time, a young David Mitchell chose to tell Judge Emmett Clarie in Hartford Federal Court that the whole world is aware of the atrocities being committed by US forces In Vietnam, and said he would not participate. Clark sentenced him to five years in prison for not registering for the draft. He broke the law, but it was he who was putting the United States on trial He used as his defense the precedent of individual guilt set by US Chief Justice Robert H. Jackson at Nuremberg.' 5A fictional novel based on true events in history  Aug 07, 2005
By Midwest Book Review
God Go With Them is a fictional novel based on true events in history. Divided into a three-part trilogy, "Good Go With Them", "Forgive Me Doctor" and "The State House", it follows the story men who objected to the Vietnam war and refused to take part in a military action they found unjust by fleeing their country. Many years later, they ask for no medals, only dignity and the right to be as respected as their fellow citizens. A powerful parable of the importance of individual rights and decision-making, and a sharp denouncement of the savagery of American war crimes and two-faced justification of intolerable humanitarian outrages during the Vietnam occupation, God Go With Them ultimately champions the human spirit in its willingness to take a stand based on what is right, in spite of the scorn of one's brethren.

5Very Current Subject Matter  Sep 16, 2001
By Margo Wilson
David Truskoff's work always comes from the mind of a realist. In the wake of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the fact that the President has declared, "We are at war", this book is a very relevent and important read.
