Golf Etiquette: The Child in All of Us

Richard Ciera began his golfing career by winning his first amateur event in 1974 at the Pine Valley Golf Club in Arizona. Richard studied golf with two of the game’s greats: the late Dave Martin at La Canada East-West Golf Club in Carmel, California; and mentor Floyd Hord, lifetime member of the PGA and former head pro at San Luis Obispo and Canyon Country Club in Palm Springs, California. The 1961 PGA Champion, the late Jerry Barber, recognized Richard’s talent for instructional golf and invited him to join his winning team at Griffith Park Golf Facility in Los Angeles. It wasn’t until after Jerry's passing, that his brother, Tom Barber, asked Richard into his office to give a golf lesson as a pre-requisite to becoming a professional golf teacher. After five years of teaching and playing golf as a professional, Ciera applied for his amateur status in 1999 and met the two year waiting period required by the United States Golf Association. A fierce competitor, and a two-time long driving champion (longest-306 yards), Richard has won several golfing events in and around the Los Angeles area; he's also caddied in the 1994 Bob Hope Chrysler and at PGA qualifying schools. Senior Amateur Richard Ciera is known for his ability to communicate the golf swing using simple terms and achieving results. This book represents years of trial and error bringing into focus the finest 40 golf shots in the game today.

Just the book for everyone you know who has ever thought of playing the game of golf. This sport is about skill and mental focus, but the etiquette of golf is something equally as important and which few of us pay the proper respect. Written in a simple style, the graphics made me smile and sometimes laugh out loud. But the information is key. The perfect gift book for every library.
