Great insight! Apr 19, 2010
By Lee Lewellen

Jones does an outstanding job of putting the whole baby boom phenomenon into context and sharing unique insights. Even if you are a member of the baby boom cohort, you will learn quite a few things about yourself and your fellow boomers. Jones helps place the baby boom era in the context of the Great Depression and World War II and how those two events set the stage for the unprecedented population growth between 1946 and 1964. This is not only informative, it is entertaining as well.

Groundbreaking Nov 25, 2008
By Bruce Guernsey That Landon Jones is also a scholar of Lewis and Clark should come as no surprise because his first book, Great Expectations, opened up territory no one else had explored and remains the best and most thorough study of the generation of Americans born between 1946 and 1964. Next time you hear or use the words "baby boom," you have Mr. Jones to thank, for this is the book that gave us that term. With a title like Great Expectations, you expect something great and you get it: articulate, insightful, and groundbreaking. Highly recommended.
