Greetings from Saudi Arabia

This fact-based story recounts a young American professor who is thrust into Saudi high society. She's come to help set up a first specialty clinic in the country, but finds herself in constant danger and pressure to sign a confession stating she's 'broken the laws'. The women she meets--Saudi, Egyptian, Syrian, Brit, and Phillipino are all trying to cope in this culture, no matter what their status, and some are luckier than others. The balancing act of trying to work within the confines of a seriously restrictive society while maintaining one's freedom is told with detachment and humor, making 'Greetings from Saudi Arabia' a compelling read.
