Charles Edwin Holbrook Jr. was born and raised in Shawneetown Illinois. This was the first town built in Illinois. Shawneetown is famous for its colorful history and the flood of 1937.Their home was an old hotel which rested next to the levee of the Ohio river. He was the son of a coal miner, Charley Holbrook Sr who worked in the deep coal mines of Kentucky who later passed away from the disease of black lung which has taking so many coal miners life’s. After serving time in the military, he traveled up and down the Mississippi River working on a tug boat from Cairo, IL to New Orleans Louisiana as an Engineer on the River boats. Charley liked the state of Louisiana and its friendly people and settled down there and worked in the oil fields. He worked on the oil fields and off shore oil rigs in Louisiana and its neighboring state of Texas. He worked and saved his money to try and make a strike of his own oil well. He spent several years enjoying the different cultures and the friendly people in the area. Charley is an avid deer hunter and has witnessed many strange occurrences that could not be explained during his hunting trips, and used his imagination and some of these strange occurrences to write this novel. This novel is the sequel to his first novel THE GROUP HUNT.
