An excellent book that fills the gap left by other method books. Mar 13, 2008
By Matthew Adams This book came at a great time for me! I have been studying guitar in all styles, from rock to jazz to nylon-string classical guitar, for several years. I have used many method books in my time as a player, and most books never have more than a single exercise or two dealing with moving fluidly between chords. As this is the skill that guitarists spend the most amount of time on, it seems silly that method books should spend so little time on it. "Guitar Chord Changes Made Easy" addresses chord transitions specifically, filling in the disparity left behind by other method books. I strongly recommend this book to both students AND teachers of guitar to help build strength and ability in the skill that guitarists of all styles use most.

Glad I found this Nov 23, 2008
By Diane Leiding I ordered this book and am sitting here looking at it right now!
> It's exactly what I've always said I needed. A way to practice
chord to chord to chord. All of the books I've had up till now (and I have 100's) go from chord to chord to make a song and the chords are clear across the fret board.....which can be annoying and frustrating for those of us learning. It is difficult to learn how make our fingers flow over the frets. This book helps practice from chord to chord with a few simple finger changes....much better. Songs will come when they come. For now...learning to flow from chord to chord is much easier.
Now I just wish he had one for ukulele also!

Great book Apr 05, 2008

This book is a great resource for the learning student. I've only been playing the guitar for about a year and chord changes have been a problem. This book has helped me with this difficulty. I recommend this book for anyone new to guitar.

Excellent resource Mar 04, 2008
By David Berna As a student of guitar for some years, I have found that the method used in this book has made playing easier and more enjoyable. I would recommend it as a great resource for the beginner as well as the seasoned guitar player.
Agree with "Less Than Expected" Reviewer Mar 19, 2010
By Nick Tropiano This isn't a bad book, and there are surprisingly few resources in print that cover this topic - something that all beginning guitar players struggle with. However, I was really hoping that this book had exercises for chord changes between 5th and 6th string barre chords and barre chords to open chords and back. There's /nothing/ that I can see in print with exercises that cover this topic. As a self-learner of guitar, I'm finding that fairly challenging to do in time. So if this is what you're looking for, I'm afraid you'll have to find another resource. However, the exercises contained in this book are effective, and I'm finding that my open chord changes are improving by following the prescribed set of drills. I'm still having to come up with my own barre chord-open, open-barre, fifth to six/six to fifth string barre chord exercises. That ticks me off. Given that this book's narrow scope is improving chord changes and it couldn't have taken all that long to "write" (it's just a series of exercises with very little text) being all of around 34 pages, how much more effort would it have been to provide a more comprehensive set of exercises including barre chords and even more lesser-used open or jazz chords? While I still use this book, man it irritates me that exercises for more chords, especially barre chords, weren't included. Disappointed, hence "2" stars. Very good exercises for basic major, minor, and 7th open chords and it will improve your playing in this area if you follow the author's practice regimen but this is an unacceptably incomplete book in scope. As one of the other reviewers said, "I was expecting more". Ditto.
