5Fun to read and good to eat!  Apr 25, 2009
By A. McHardy
I was hooked from the introduction, hearing about a trip to Italy that started it all. I love the way this author writes, you feel you are being taught by a friend, not ordered around the kitchen by some chef in a fancy coat. It feels like a travel book and a cookbook wrapped into one! The picture on page 38 makes me want to book a trip to Bali tomorrow! For someone who isn't great at coordinating an entire evening I particularly enjoy the themes and how an entire night is laid out for me to "copy". No searching through the appetizer section of a cookbook and then the main course and the dessert for the perfect combination. It's done for me with decorating ideas for setting the table and other tips for entertaining!

You must get this book for anyone that likes to cook, likes to travel, or just likes to entertain.

5Great recipes & lots of fun!  Feb 25, 2011
By Courtney D. Bushway "cbushway"
I bought this cookbook as a Christmas gift for my sister and brother-in-law. They are aspiring foodies. After looking through the book, I almost kept it for myself. Glad I did give it because they have made several of the recipes and shared all their work. Love the party format - eliminates all the guess work out of what to serve and pair with items.
Highly recommend!

Great cookbook. Loved it and can't wait to try some new recipes. Sharing the cookbook with church members that love to cook.

5Loved it!  Jun 26, 2009

I am not a cook at all, and yet people always buy me cookbooks as gifts thinking they will inspire me. I recently received Haute n The Kitchen, and I must say it was the very first cookbook that actually motivated me to cook. I love the author's stories and the photography. I've tried two recipes so far, and both impressed my guests! Great gift idea!

5A little new spice  Mar 10, 2009
By Elizabeth Bray
It's been years since I wanted to read a cookbook cover to cover. This author keeps me turning pages with the feeling that I'm reading a novel and looking at a friend's family album at the same time. It lends this unique ability to feel completely comfortable with trying out a new adventure.

Rather than feeling envious of someone who is obviously more skilled, I'm ready to take on just about any recipe in this book - starting tonight! I might even book a plane ticket while I'm at it.

Thank you for the really fresh perspective on "something old something new."
