Best book ever on natural healing for horses! Feb 01, 2010
By Laurra
"Sophie's Place"
Marijke is an extraordinary healer, and as her book attests, she is an excellent teacher as well. If you love your horse, get this book. If you don't know much about natural healing, get this book. Even if you do know a lot about natural healing, get this book. This book will teach you about horse physiology, diet, and why natural healing using herbs, homeopathy, proper diet, and vitamins/minerals is vital for good horse health. Marijke's explanations and descriptions are both thorough and enlightening.
Healing Horses is an outstanding reference book, too. I am never without it when I am with my horses. Consider getting a copy to keep as a reference in your barn, and a copy to read at home. Both you and your horse will be the better for it. This is, without a doubt, the best book I have ever seen on natural equine health.

Book Review Feb 12, 2010
By Darren Mcdowell This book is nothing short of "stellar". I have been waiting for a nutritional book this user friendly for the horse world for a long time. This book offers insight and explanation on where we are going wrong in our feeding programs, why metabolic disorders including laminitis is becoming an epidemic. This book dives into the big "C" that is forever threatening and claiming the lives of so many horses, "Colic". Why does it occur so often, what are we as caregivers doing or not doing right? How can we work from a preventable stand point. This book covers the big topics all the way down to the smaller ones. Ever wonder things like why your horse is licking dirt? why do horses really crib? what are they trying to tell you? Should my horse really be eating all that alfalfa, is it safe? Why is my horse so overweight when I am not overfeeding him? And on and on, it is all contained in this book. And the best part is that this book tells you how to turn it all around. I guarantee when you read through these pages you will have alot of "uh ha" moments. I can not say enough about this book and this author who is saving these horses and educating these owners. This book has instantly become an invaluable tool in my barn and on the road in busy practice of equine therapy. Thank you Marijka and Cody!!!!!!! This book is a must.
