Here a Little, There a Little

For each week of the year Here a Little, There a Little examines a specific Scripture in detail, and offers a related prayer suggestion for each of the following days of that week. This process promotes committing the verses to memory, as well as applying them to your daily life.

4New twist on a daily devotional  Aug 23, 2011
By Patrick J. Southam
This is a new twist on a daily devotional. Rather than a different selection for each day of the year, the author has selected a Bible passage (usually a verse or two or three) for each week, commented on it, and then has a different prayer for each day of the week based on that particular Bible verse(s). This takes a little getting used to, if you are used to a daily devotional with something different for each day.
The plus to this are that a person can slow down and really meditate upon a particular Bible passage for an entire week. The minus to this is by the end of the week I am antsy to move on. Though, being forced to slow down is a good spiritual exercise. Perhaps the same verse for a week with seven different commentaries on it rather than one would be a good improvement.
Most of author Grooms' comments have been helpful. The section on loneliness was particularly excellent.
