This is a story of Homebuilding in the Caribbean, told in the first person by an informed lay person for anyone considering the purchase of property and construction of a domicile practically anywhere in the Caribbean Archipelago. There is more information herein about the quirks and the process than any other single source. Finding very little information out there for anyone with the aspiration to build, the author began the construction process, like thousands before him – unawares. Immersing himself daily in the toil as the project’s electrician, he amassed a trove of information while discovering the process of building with concrete, using West Indian construction technique and laborers. By trade a master electrician and electrical contractor, he designed, wired and oversaw the construction of his own home. While he informs the unaware of the pitfalls and tribulations with humor and dignity, he expounds on the less-than-perfect methods and the lack of mastered skills.
