Hope, Lessons from a Hummingbird: A Redemptive Adventure of how a regular guy got free from depression and rage

In Hope: Lessons from a Hummingbird, William Cuccia shows readers how to look within their heart and the simplest forms of benevolence to find redemption and faith. This self-empowerment guide is an autobiographical flight of a tiny wan hummingbird into the heart and intellect of one couple that over the course of eight days nursed her back to health, and with the help of a conservation expert, released her back into the wild. The author shares his bittersweet journey in which he walked a dangerous path of self-loathing and denial that jeopardized his marriage, his ministry, and his sanity. It took the fierce courage of something so incredibly fragile to turn his inner demons into flashes of light. With humor and wit, this drama soars like a celebration with a life all its own. At once tender, at times exacting, readers are given a chance to consider their own beliefs, strengths, and ability to hope against all odds.

5A Great Read!  Apr 09, 2010

I really enjoyed this book. It was honest, insightful, touching, and funny. The author reveals some of his deepest wounds, and how the Lord healed and delivered him from his pain and illness. Certainly this book will be a great source of hope and encouragement for those who read it, as it was for me.

Anger and depression are natural things, but when they control one's life, they become serious issues. "Hope: Lessons from a Hummingbird" is a self-help book from a self-expressed regular joe, a man who not all about the healing power of forgiveness and other new age concepts. Discussing hope, and how raw unfiltered positivity and carried him through depression and helped him become a better person, "Hope: Lessons from a Hummingbird" is a unique and highly recommended read, sure to please.

4Great Story. Great Lessons. Great Book!  Jun 25, 2009

Read it on the Kindle2. Not much at writing reviews, but thought I'd share that I felt better after reading this book then I did before.

It's a very good story (true story I think as well), sprinkled with lessons learned from nature and the author's openness to accept those lessons.

If you are thinking that you are trying TOO hard in this life, this book will reinforce that maybe you are right ... -- life's a process; enjoy it! Kudos to the Author for a honest story that we can all learn from and learn from in our own way.

The book center's around the Author, Cuccia's, experiences and his faith as a guide. However, as someone who is a Blue Stater and believes in the separation of Church and State and all that, the Author's particular faith does not detract from the story as "faith" is whatever you think it is to you in my opinion. It's just a great story and it is his story from his experiences. And the fact that I can learn from his experiences and they can offer me guidance... what's wrong with that.
