How to Ditch Your Allowance and Be Richer Than Your Parents! Aug 08, 2009
By P. Mackins I had the privilege of reading Patti Handy's book. As a CPA and a father, I think it should be required reading for every teenager. Patti's conversational style of presentation gives the feeling you have had a valuable talk with your favorite aunt. The fact that the information is presented is such a comfortable manner does not diminish at all from the valuable lessons to be learned. This book will help anyone be a much better manager of money. Those of my generation feel social security will most likely not be available when we need it; if today's generation heed Patti Handy's lessons they won't care.
The Best Financial Training I Have Seen For Teens! Aug 26, 2010

Patti Handy has written a winner! Purchasing this book for your teens is an investment in their future and a gift that will keep on giving.
As an author on rapid debt elimination myself, I often receive requests from parents asking if I have written anything for teens. Parents want to prevent their children from experiencing a debt plagued life.
Since I have not done so, I highly recommend this book by Patti. I have read all the books on finances for teens and this one is the BEST!

Ms. Handy has a heart for teenagers who want and need to "wrap their arms around" the concept and application of money management -- while they still have open minds and clean credit records. Lovingly inspired by the lessons she yearns to teach all young people, including her own son, her book is an accessible, thorough, enjoyable manual about all aspects of personal finance from a teens-eye-view. This book, and her complete workshop/coaching system should be established in every high school across the land. What's the holdup??

Informative, engaging read Feb 16, 2010
By Caradawn Holter I don't consider myself a "money" person and yet I found this book to be an informative, engaging read. The author introduces basic wealth building tools in a language that any teen or even pre-teen can understand. Her message is clear: achieving financial freedom is significantly more meaningful than image or accumulating material things (a lesson so many young people have yet to grasp). "This is not just about material wealth," she tells us, "but also about spiritual and emotional wealth." I will definitely share this book with my children, nieces and nephews.
