Maybe the best book on public speaking available May 08, 2009
By Greg Ferguson
"Author: How to Give Your Best Speech or Presentation Ever"
OK. I am a little biased since I am the author. I have been speaking publicly for more than 20 years and I have read dozens of books on public speaking. Why did I feel the need to write another? Because most books do not differentiate the stages of planning, preparing, practicing, and performing.
For example, some books start out advising you on ways to calm your nerves. Well, that's good advice, but it comes much later in this book. It comes after the planning and preparing stages. If you follow the step by step processes in this book, you will reduce your nervousness in the practicing stage and learn to control it by the time you perform.
In this book you will find the ten critical steps of of planning and preparing, fourteen performance strategies, and over one hundred tactics to improve your speech or presentation.
Whether you are a beginning speaker or someone who must speak in fornt of a group often, this book will help you become a better speaker.
I hope you enjoy it.

The book leads you through planning and preparing, and then provides strategies and tactics to perform and deliver masterfully. It will help you develop the right habits and techniques, and then sharpen your skills over time. I recommend reading this book!

Helpful information on giving a talk May 13, 2009
By Carolyn Zahnow
"save the teens"
This book is a godsend for newbie Toastmaster members as well as someone that is thinking about becoming a speaker. There are tips and tactics throughout the book to help you conquer the butterflies that invade your being when it's time to give your talk.
Part One is about Planning and Preparation, which shows when you give your speech. Part Two is called Perform Like a Professional - yes, you can fool your audience into believing you give speeches all the time and Greg teaches you how.
Excellent book - buy one (or two) today!

Great How To!!! Jul 01, 2009
By Michael L. Jones I have had the opportunity to see the author speak publicly on several occasions and had no doubt this was going to be an excellent book. It is easy to understand and gives a clear plan to tackle any public speaking assignment. I found it very easy to follow the step by step instructions on planning and preparation.
I used to be very nervous before speaking in front of a group. I learned that proper planning and preparation, in addition to plenty of practice, enables me to overcome my anxiety.
