I Don't Like That

Andrea Mitchell's I Don't Like That! is a wonderful children's book that depicts the conflict and humor when parents try every trick in the book to get their children to eat foods they don't like. Based upon the author's own personal experiences with her two children, it chronicles the funny and ironic things that children will say and do, as they attempt to avoid eating foods that parents know to be healthy and good for them. Even though this is the author's first book, it deftly captures the energetic battle of wills between mom and kids. Parents all over the world will identify with the zany remarks the kids make and may recognize those same responses in their own children. This book will be a delight for young readers of all ages, especially for children who have a sense of humor, and enjoy laughing at the outlandish excuses and creative bargaining of these two children as they make desperate attempts to avoid eating those green peas.
