I Lost My Underwear Today: And Other Flights of Imagination

Skillfully wending words, sounds, and images, author/illustrator, Colonel Korne paints poetic pictures that catapult readers into a witty world of rhymes. Whether weaving a web of intrigue in "Spider, Spider," rhapsodizing reminiscently in "Memories of Grandpa," or the provocative pun in "Honeydew, Honeydew," he hits the heart, not with sap, but with a refreshing twist that draws in everyone who picks up this unique volume. Children's poetry? Hardly, but make no mistake. Kids love the Colonel. Adults will chuckle at the double entendres resplendent in the Colonel's work and identify with the trials that vex characters like Emily Lou, the hippo ballerina. All ages will relish the artwork that ranges from realism to cartoon sketches. Educators will appreciate the natural use of literary devices: "The Butterfly" as a picture poem, the synonyms in "I Lost My Underwear Today", as well as wonderful examples of irony, alliteration, and metaphor replete in this masterfully written work.

5Refreshingly Amusing & Sophisticatedly Witty  Jan 19, 2009
By Timothy J. Burda "Tim Burda"
Lost my Underwear brings me back to my childhood - when everything was an adventure and my enjoyment came from the simple things of life. This author uses wit, rhyme, and bit of poetic license to create a wonderful world of adventure that can be experienced by any person whether 3, 30, or 300 years old (the later being the less realistic). I enjoyed this book and would recommend this to anyone looking for an amusing read.

5Exceptional book  Jan 08, 2009
By Gail
This book is great! It is full of real life fun. I can imagine myself and my siblings going through these same antics. It is good to have a book out there that cultivates good humor and childlike characteristics.
The illustrations are also very good. The whimsical feel to them is very enjoyable and relaxing.
Thanks so much.

5Imagination Unleashed  Jan 25, 2009
By John A. Finlay "J.Fin"
I would have to agree with the comments thus far. This book is something out of the ordinary that anyone can enjoy. It has something for everyone. While i was reading some of the short poems it brought back many memories from my childhood but at the same time there were others that i could relate to as an adult. I would recommend it to anyone with children or possibly a mind sometimes like a child. The poems will engage the imagination of anyone who reads it or has it read to them.

4Poetic Plays on Words from Silly to Serious  Jan 23, 2009
By Orville P. Chomer
This book has many silly poems that both kids and adults can relate to. Many of us can remember some of our fears of something being in our room in the dark!

There are a few poems that that 12 year old boys will thoroughly enjoy (and thoroughly enjoy reading it to their little sisters to gross them out)!

Of course it seems that there is a little bit of 12 year old boy in every grown man!

There is a bit of the serious in the book too. The "grandpa" poem is a great example of this. In fact, I think this poem may be my favorite of the whole bunch.

For a bit of light reading, or something to share with your kids: Get it!
