If It's Tuesday..... I Must Be DEAD!

It's a poignant, impressive story of survival and love - woven into a heart wrenching tale of sacrifice to give her daughter the career that she begged for. Filled with physical conquests, Hollywood anecdotes, and personal memories - the book recounts the life of Josene Ker Weld and the career of her daughter, bizarre & quirky 50's actress Tuesday Weld. Wanting the world to know what she endured throughout her life - this book is a "Daughter Dearest" - overflowing with true stories, conversations, and all of the 'stuff' that you always want to know but never hear about.

Just finished reading this book. Could not put it down. It's so personal, and real, not sugar coated at all. Very well written. This book is told through the perspective of Tuesday's mother, whose story is worth reading all in it's own. We all have our demons, but I still think Tuesday Weld is one of the most interesting and beautiful actresses ever.

3A car wreck of a book!  May 01, 2011

This book is a remarkable read for all the wrong reasons. Taken from Josene Weld's diaries but "written by Samuel Veta", Dudley Moore's ex-assistant, much of it is hard to follow or makes no sense. Mrs. Weld's entire existence is all about getting money from anyone she can but especially from her daughters (one of whom is Tuesday Weld who apparently despised her) and her ex-son-in-law Dudley Moore. There is minor dirt about other actors with their names usually misspelled - "Laurel" Bacall, "Duane" Hickman, Roddy "McDowell". In fact, the book is full of misspellings, grammatical mistakes, typos, a bad layout and no page numbers. It is only interesting because she was Tuesday Weld's mother.
