When Lester Webb returned to California after having paid all his debts and having finished all his other business in Arkansas, he was soon confronted with the harsh realities of professional boxing and big time gambling. He soon became acquainted with the Mafia and had to learn the hard way about their underworld techniques. His good friend, Bobby Pickett, had run afoul of the law and Lester was torn between loyalty to his friend and his own integrity. And to further complicate matters, his ex-wife, Bonnie, makes an unscheduled appearance.
