By J. L. Beatty This is a good read. It holds your interest all of the way through. Almost all of it is based on fact which makes it scarey that something like this is happening here in the good old USA.
It Really IS Another Country on the Texas Border! Sep 01, 2006

"Texas on the Plate"
Wow! I was born and raised in Texas, lived here most of my life, but I had no idea what the situation was like "down on the border". This was a riveting book. I literally could not put it down. The author's characterization is very, very skillful. I could vividly picture each character from the gentle protaganist Connie, to the evil gang members. The plot was smoothly crafted and moved along at a nice pace. I believe this book is a must-read for every Texan - certainly for anyone considering a move to the Rio Grande Valley region of our great state.

By J. Evins I have lived in South Texas most of my life and this book is a must read for anyone that lives south of Dallas. I have seen justice go from bad to worse along the Mexican border. Mrs. Snodgrass has struck at the heart of law and order in a most gentle way.
