4"Fascinating, yet amusing" - Spock  Jan 17, 2009
First of all , I was glad the book is not in any way
a takeoff of the TV show "Touched by an Angel"
Mr. Barkemeyer's fresh variation of the gonzo writing style
is what makes the book readable. Most novels are like watching a chess game played on a 2D board. Barkemeyer is like Spock playing multi-dimensional chess - "Fascinating, yet amusing".

5A novel beginning and unique ending  Jan 17, 2009
A fast-moving story, so skillfully written, you feel as if
you are there. One can easily envision, not just the scene but
the thoughts and feelings of the characters. Totally enjoyed the
descriptive language. With a "novel" beginning, and an equally
unique ending, it is not at all what one would expect. You'll
finish the book as quick as "the wink of an angel's eye".

5in the wink of an angel's eye  Jan 10, 2009
Eric Barkemeyer has created a tale of characters haunted by their past, crafted with lovely language.

5Wow!  Dec 30, 2008
I highly recommend this inquisitive and thought-provoking book to anybody. Barkemeyer captivated me from the first page and I could not put down this book. I hope that Barkemeyer keeps us going with more stories like this, as it is one of the best books I have ever read!

5Great book, highly recommended!  Dec 12, 2008
Like another reviewer, I didn't want to put the book down, though
it was very different from anything I've read lately. It was an
unusual story written with vivid characters and settings. I'm curious
whether there will be a sequel soon or other works by the author. He
has an uncommon quality to his writing. I'll look forward to it!
