A Great New Resource Dec 21, 2006
By G. Arroyo Leo Yates presents the nuts and bolts of having an effective deaf ministry. The book covers from Certification for Sign language interpreters to how to be an effective interpreter in different worship settings. One of the great features of this book is the comprehensive sign dictionary that is included. It is truly a great tool for my church as it continues to discern their calling into deaf ministry.

Definate must for church interpreters. Jun 27, 2007

This book was a pleasant surprise. It was technical using the most recent vocabulary and professional resources that I am aware of. There is a tremendous amount of research quoted and explained. But, it is also very practical using diagrams and pictures that are easy to model. I will be recommending it to all of my colleagues.

Attention All ASL Interpreters Aug 25, 2007
By Barbara G. Bonds
"Ph.D., RID"
Here's a book that shares a wealth of information about interpreting, no matter what the situation. The author's insight and experiences guide his instruction and advice with clarity and sensitivity to the target audience, Deaf adults and children. I intend to use this in my professional workshops and college classroom instruction for Deaf educators and ASL interpreters.
This manual should become one of the most necessary tools in any ASL interpreter's toolbox. Oh, yes! It's also beneficial for church interpreters!

Interpreting At Church Jan 07, 2011
By nanad My daughter requested this. It isn't quite what she wanted because a lot of the information is in other texts she has. However, the pictures of religious signs is helpful. She thought it would be more comprehensive. But it helps.
