New Hope Feb 07, 2008 Everyone should read this book. Irene and Dave have such a strong bond with God and unwavering faith. I admire her strength so much in her time of need. Irene and her family have given me new hope and strength in my own faith in the Lord and that there is still good kind people in this world who put their faith in God. We all can learn something from her story. God bless her and keep her safe.
A must read! Jan 25, 2008 Early in their lives, Irene and Dave Dias committed themselves to becoming Christ followers. Evidence of their commitment exhibited itself in their attitudes and the way they lived their life. Just when other couples Dave and Irene's age were beginning to enjoy their empty nest midlife, a medical report sent the Dias family on a journey that tested the depth of their commitment to Christ. The reader is inspired to know the Christ that can indwell a person and make them "other centered" in spite of their pain and discouragement. This is a must read!
Soaring On The Wings of Eagles Jan 25, 2008 Warning! If you read this book, you will never be the same again. Irene's journey of faith is guaranteed to change your perspective on suffering, what it is to have enduring faith, and how to walk through deep waters surrounded by the love of family, friends, and colleagues. You will also cry. You will laugh. At times, you might even stop mid sentence to catch your breath and ponder deeply. The legacy of this extraordinary woman will inspire, teach, encourage, and challenge. But most of all, you will fall in love. You will fall in love with Irene. And you will not be alone...for she is beloved by all who know her. She soars on the wings of eagles. Is. 40:31 ""...but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint..."
Inspiring Lives... Jan 24, 2008 The reality is that our greatest personal growth most often comes during times of pain and trial, not during times of ease. It's through those times in life when we are squeezed under uncertainty, change or challenge that our inner character and beliefs are revealed. I've know Dave and Irene for many years. I've watched them in times of joy and in hardship, and most recently during what has to be the most difficult times they have ever experienced. Through it all Dave and Irene have been empowered to live above their circumstances, to experience joy in the midst of incredible pain and suffering, and to not only to maintain a hope and confidence in the future, but to inspire others with their lives. This book chronicles their journey and reveals a couple whose faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ gives them courage, strength and hope.
Living it Jan 24, 2008 Inspiring. Malcolm Muggeridge said: Everything I learned, I learned through affliction. Irene's Journey of Faith chronicles the story of a couple who based their lives in the Jesus of the Bible. They found Him faithful in the "good" times, but we see that Jesus also proves a faithful friend in their hard times. They are living in the storm by the convictions that guided them in the calm. No self-pity. Just faithfulness to each other, to God. This book inspires us. Thanks for sharing it. Thanks for living it.
