Seeing Beyond the Pain Jan 24, 2008
By Marilyn Miller Sooner or later, change and the unexpected enters into all of our lives.
Irene and Dave's story is a great and realistic view into the possibility of seeing beyond one's own fragile and difficult situation to find the perspective that a good and kind God can give. There's hope and joy, but on a deeper level there is an honesty and authenticity that draws one in to wanting to know and love and listen to the Source of their strength.
I would highly recommend reading this book in preparation for the tough times as well as when you in the middle of them.

Inspiring & Uplifting Jan 23, 2008
By G. S. Ahrens Irene's Journey of Faith is a wonderful, touching and heartwarming story of courage and true faith. God often touches us even more deeply and profoundly when we are in conditions we would rather not be in. Irene and Dave Dias know this first-hand. Their person story will inspire anyone whose life takes an unexpected (and unpleasant) turn. Dave Dias shows beautifully the blessings that are found when we then turn closer to God and to each other. Their lives, and Irene's journey, is bursting with faith, hope and love.
Basically a web blog Jun 05, 2011
By RosieP Let me start by saying I do not know Irene or any of her family; however Irene has been forced to endure extraordinary circumstances. With that being said, I would not recommend purchasing this book. Everything in the book (and even more) can be found on the website [...] I was disappointed to pay $20 for a book only to find that the exact info in the book is available for free online. Second, my spouse was diagnosed with a rare and terminal medical condition. I was hoping to find practical advice for coping with this on a day-to-day basis. This book did not provide that. It is basically a journal of the Dias family. If you are looking for help and advice for dealing with a terminal illness of a loved one, this is not the book for you.

A story focusing on Irene's faith and how it enabled her to overcome her illness Jul 07, 2008
By Midwest Book Review Primary Amyloidosis is something few have ever heard of, yet terrible all the same. "Irene's Journey of Faith" follows Dave and Irene Dias as they are faced with Irene's battle with this rare, untreatable, and often fatal disease. A story focusing on Irene's faith and how it enabled her to overcome her illness and get back to her life, "Irene's Journey of Faith" exhorts the moral to never give up hope. Highly recommended for community library memoir collections.

New Hope Feb 07, 2008
By Debbie Kenyon Everyone should read this book. Irene and Dave have such a strong bond with God and unwavering faith. I admire her strength so much in her time of need. Irene and her family have given me new hope and strength in my own faith in the Lord and that there is still good kind people in this world who put their faith in God. We all can learn something from her story. God bless her and keep her safe.
