Quick, easy, and healthy Japanese food Jan 19, 2009
By Andaluz This cookbook contains a lot of light and healthy recipes that do not take a lot of time to make. I especially like the "Microwave Dishes" section. I tried the "Tempting Steamed Salmon" recipe and found it to be delicious - and, when prepared as instructed, it didn't smell. Many of these recipes can be prepared in under 30 minutes, which is great for busy working people.
Most of the ingredients for the recipes can be found in regular supermarkets. A few ingredients, such as Ponzu sauce and Enoki mushrooms, may necessitate a visit to an Asian food market.
It's unfortunate the author didn't have a better proofreader/editor, as some of the directions are unclear or poorly written. Some of the abbreviations are a bit unorthodox (SQ = small quantity??) However, it's usually fairly easy to figure out what the author meant to convey.
