What a terrific book! I think it is good for little ones, but it also could be used to get older children to remember the good old days!! Great rhyme and beautiful pictures. I just retired from teaching, but I am sharing this book with my friends at school. I know the book can easily fit into the writing program. I am also going to add a pair of little blue boots with the book and give it as a gift.

What a great book!
It reminded me so much of the books I loved as a child. The ones with a catchy phrase you loved to repeat over and over. Don't be surprised if
"He wore boots! He wore boots! He wore big blue boots!" becomes the next pop culture catch-phrase to sweep the nation- or Facebook!
This story really is a fun read and even has a twist ending that made me laugh. As for a sequel? If I can make a title recommendation. How about:
"Mary Jane and her Creative Brain!"

My father worked with Mary Jane for years and years so I might be a little biased. . . but this is an excellent kids book. Every time we go to grandpa's house this is my 3 year old's bedtime story (along with "The Monster at the End of the Book"). It is a must. The book got misplaced once and I didn't think she was going to be able to sleep!!! Thanks for a great book . . . would love to see another from Mary Jane!!!!
