In this gentle picture book of evocative watercolors, Jennifer the maple tree is warned by her animal friends that humans can harm their world. But she makes friends with a little boy. She watches as he comes year after year to sit quietly beneath her branches, until finally he brings his young daughter to enjoy the maple tree. Gradually Jennifer discovers that humans want nothing from the woods but to share their peace and beauty.
