Jesus: The Word and The Christ

The author was born in Nigeria. From childhood he sang in the choir and had questioned church leaders on few doctrines that baffled his mind. One of such doctrine is ‘why do we worship on Sunday in stead of Saturday that is the Sabbath.’ This lead him to research into why many Christian churches worship on Sunday. He studied Insurance and worked in the industry before managing his own firm. It was during this time that the Lord called him to His service. At this call the Lord led him to fast for thirty days. At first, the author said to himself how could he fast for thirty days as he had never fasted for half a day. But when the Lord commands who are we to disobey? This was in 1989. Again in 1991 he was led to fast for another thirty days. On the first day he was to resume these thirty days of fasting he postponed it. He postponed for two more days then came the forth day; as he was driving his wife to work he was stopped by the police. He had always been calm and peaceful but this time around he was not and so was locked up by the police. It was at the realization of the fact that he would have commenced thirty days of fasting and that he had been procrastinating that he prayed and asked for forgiveness. He then commenced the thirty days of fasting from that moment. He equally prayed that he be released within thirty minutes. Twenty five minutes later he was released and he completed the thirty days of fasting. Thereafter he fasts one day every week till present day. That he could turn from his promiscuity and become a man of God was what baffled his friends who knew him well. Before the Lord called him to His service he had been searching for the truth while he pondered on the question on where he would spend eternity. This led him to read works of other so called masters. His search ended when he read a book his mother gave him as a present on her return from Jerusalem. The book was titled the Gospel of Jesus. It was the combination of the four Gospels. As he read the Sermon on the Mount; Matthew 5, 6 & 7 he came to the conclusion that none of the so called masters he had read their works could in any way be compared to the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. The authority with which he spoke depicts Him as a law-giver and not a messenger. He holds a Masters Degree in religious studies. He has written two other books The Sabbath and The Concept of God from the time of Abraham to the present times. These two books were research works.
