Yes, I may be a bit biased, but...... Nov 27, 2007
By Maripat Putzer Ok, Joey is my brother, but what a great read. Even if you are not claustrophobic, you will probably identify with at least some of what he shares. Joey has had an amazing life that is very interesting and he does a great job of putting you in his shoes. The book gives fellow claustrophobics, I being one (although not as bad as Joey), a chance to laugh, but also empathize with a fellow sufferer's experiences. I couldn't be prouder of my eldest sibling and I think you will enjoy his stories.
Close Encounters of the Phobic Kind May 29, 2008
By Beth Purkhiser If you happen to share this particular condition with Joey Edmonds, sit yourself down in a wide, open space and enjoy some close encounters of the phobic kind. Of what do I speak? CLAUSTROPHOBIA! Not being one of his fellow sufferers, I was surprised to learn that "researchers believe nearly twenty percent of the world's population suffers from some form of claustrophobia." We have all heard the quintessential claustrophobic story of the guy stuck in an elevator - but what about the poor schmuck who has to stuff his head into a football helmet or perform a commercial by popping out from under hundreds of baseballs? Have no fear as Joey takes you along to some of his tightest spots - he will always get you out with some original thinking, a big dose of humor, and if that isn't enough, SOME REALLY BIG FONT! ;-) For those of you who may actually know Joey personally, his phobia of small places holds no particular mystery. His personality, spirit, and pure zest for life are simply too large for the small places of this world. Find some elbow-room on your bookshelf for "Claustrophobic!"
