A charming tale of passage Aug 14, 2007
By J. Macdonald I've read "...The Airport Kid" and thoroughly enjoyed its message of passage from childhood to young adult in a simpler and more innocent era. The daily and life-changing experiences transpiring take the boy to young man with the help of his "friends", the flying machines and their pilots. A true love of flying and its characters is conveyed and we know at the end of the story that John will be positively influenced and matured by these experiences. I also enjoyed the woodcut quality of the illustrations and plan to pass this book as a gift to the children in my family.
