Kanook Kibbutznick

In 1969 a young Canadian joined the United States Marine Corps. After being wounded in action he returned to civilian life and taking advantage of the GI bill began college in West Virginia. In 1973 He heard a speech by Golda Meir and was so impressed he traveled to Israel where he wound up working on a Kibbutz. When not washing dishes, he went out on combat patrols with the IDF.(Israeli Defence Forces) His experiences include a religious miracle occuring on the golan heights during the Yom Kippur War. He along with an Israeli soldier undertook an unauthorized mission wherein he caught the eye of Mossad and was subsequently recruited. After receiving special training in Israel he returned to North America where he became part of an assasination sqaud. The authors homicidal mania at times put the mission in jeopardy; were it not for the highly professional team surrounding him, things would have turned out much differently--though no less bloody.

The first time I opened Mike Hoover's book, KANOOK KIBBUTZNICK, I knew I had a winner. Mike's style is immediately engaging. 4Interesting and Fast-paced  Jan 15, 2012
By Walter M. Brasch "journalist/author/"
This book might be a memoir. It might be fiction. It is undoubtedly a blend, but how much is each? It doesn't really matter. Mike Hoover has written an excellent book from the perspective of a grunt in the Vietnam War to a trainee for Mossad. The facts are there, and they prove interesting in their own right. This is a fast-read, and an excellent opportunity to learn about what most of us don't know.
