A PAGE TURNER! Jun 05, 2008
By Cynthia Brian
"The Star Lady"
"Although Kill the Devil is a work of fiction, you'll feel you are actually a participant in the war between the states. T. K. Marion is an eloquent storyteller who peppers his imaginary civil war saga with empathetic characters and believable circumstances. You will be turning pages of this historical novel faster than a soldier can load his musket! If you want to learn the back story about how T. K. Marion researched history and designed his story, tune into his interviews on the radio show Starstyle-Be the Star You Are! from April 10, 2008 [...]. Great information." Believable, Interesting, Historical Fiction Apr 21, 2008
By Catherine A. Stevenson The events and characters in this story are so believably real; you could easily forget that it is a work of fiction. Allow enough time to finish the book in one sitting; you will be curious where the plot leads on the next turn of the page.
Superb! Apr 20, 2009

A page-turner from start to finish. Assassinate Lee is the Yankee plan. Will Westmoreland succeed, or will Gibson stop him? A heart-pounding climax. A must read. A new classic for sure.
Historical Accuracy and Raw Literary Talent Apr 14, 2009

To appreciate the talent of this superb author and the historical accuracy of this novel, you must have both a knowledge of and an appreciation for those four years plus of unparalleled conflict, human sacrifice, and the comprehensive national destruction wrought by the Civil War. However, if you lack these, you will no longer lack them after you read this book!
T.K. Marion has captured the intense and severe emotional, psychological, and spiritual struggles of the characters he uses to tell this story. I can think of nothing he has omitted. He captures the essence of the much loved and respected General of the Confederate Army, Robert E. Lee, and of his counterpart, Union General-in-Chief, Ulysses S. Grant. Perhaps even more remarkable are the down-to-earth, "real" people Marion introduces his readers to. In this book, the history of that unique time period and those who endured it come alive through these characters, their respective histories, struggles, and perspectives. I read this novel and have come away with a renewed focus on an era when time stood still while America grappled with one of the most morally challenging questions of its young history.
A man who can write like this should avail himself of every opportunity to take us back in time to periods in our shared history when all of us are forced to come to terms with the meaningful and deeply spiritual issues which continue to make us the greatest nation on earth.
It is my earnest hope that Marion will give us more of his exceptional skill with words and his command of history in further historical novels. I will buy many more copies of this book, giving them as gifts. I thank T.K. Marion for the pleasure he has given me in the reading of this book, and look forward with heightened anticipation to his next work!
I READ THIS ON VACATION AND ALMOST MISSED PART OF THE TOUR! Jun 13, 2008

TK Marion REALLY has a way with words.
I don't read Civil War books, never have, and figured I never would. I met TK at a recent book signing, loved the cover, found his laid-back presentation intriguing, and bought the book.
When TK signed it, I instructed him to personalize it not just to me but also to an unnamed person I would be giving it to as a gift.
A few days later, however, I threw KILL THE DEVIL into my suitcase (I always take something to read)for my vacation through Virginia and North Carolina, which I quickly discovered are two states full of Civil War battle sites.
I started reading the book the first evening.....and could not put it down. Could NOT! It is a fascinating, well-paced read, full of suspense, interesting characters.....you name it, this book's got it.
I have absolutely no intention of giving my copy of KILL THE DEVIL to anyone. The copy TK signed to me stays on my book shelf FOREVER.
