Kis Goodbye May 19, 2009
By Shawn Reed
"Janelle"
This was a very good book. One of the best books I have sat down to read in a long time. Kiss Goodbye was real, telling of a families deep down emotional dealing with the tragic death of a family member, and how God guided her way through it all never letting her fall. It truely shows that God is with us at all times and if you ask he will hold your hand.
Kiss Goodbye is a book i have already recomended to many many people.
Thank you, Deb Watson for such an amazing book and thank you God for pushing her to write it!

Kiss Goodbye: The Story of God's Presence in the Dark Night
For anyone who has lost a loved one and questioned their faith in God, this is a must read. Deb tells the story of the painful loss of her daughter, and you feel like you are taking that journey with her and her family. I would recommend to anyone to read this book and share it with others. It is a sad story of pain and loss, but is ultimately a beautiful reminder of how God is ever present in our lives. I personally lost a close family member 5 years ago, and this book was incredibly uplifting for me. It is one that I know I will read several times and that I will share with others.

Kiss Goodbye May 20, 2009
By Chris Bonnell Kiss Goodbye is an excellent, must read, for those that question whether God is with us during our darkest, trying moments of life. By the end of the book your question will be answered. Kiss Goodbye is so real, and full of teaching moments. The emotion of the author's story was so raw and descriptive that I had to read it in pieces, which helped me to get my hands around the message of the book. It will be a blessing in your life to read of this family's journey, before, during, and after their loss. I have no doubt at the end of the book readers will understand God is with us, always.

A Must Read, Heart Touching & Healing Book Aug 20, 2009
By L. VanderStel
"Mom of a Dozen"
From the first page, through the closing of this book, Kiss Goodbye: The Story of God's Presence in the Dark Night was as though I was sharing with this mom the emotions, pain, and the hope for joy again, as we both experienced tragic accidents that took one of our children. The author, Deb Watson, shares very openly with such raw honesty the death of her 19 year old daughter from a rollerblading accident. It was as though I was standing beside her, knowing something was terribly wrong before our finding our deceased children, to the robotic way we had to tell our other children, and somehow, by God's strength, joy, hope and healing come shining through.
"Death had created a new set point - now things were calculated by "before and after" the accident.
It was my constant desire that my remaining loved ones would know how much I valued them, yet Cathy's death threatened to consume me."
Deb Watson shares her loneliness, the pain, the need to be able to grieve, and trying to find a reason for it all. As she writes, and I remember so well, the first Christmas was not Merry. She hoped for others to understand and reach out - to be available, and many times this failed. For me as well, friendships changed after the death of my son - some ended.
"During the good times in life, I had enjoyed an abundance of friends, but now in death, only a few precious ones had the courage to stay nearby. Perhaps fear drove them away. Perhaps I drove them away. Perhaps they were looking for the old me and didn't realize that the new me needed them more. Death created a distinct loneliness and although my entire family experienced the loss, each of us had to wrestle through the grief individually. It was easy to feel abandoned, cynical and bitter, but by fixing my eyes on Jesus, He spared me from the further loss of those feelings would produce."
Kiss Goodbye: The Story of God's Presence in the Dark Night is for any family that has gone through a loss, and unfortunately, death eventually affects us all. This is worth reading to understand those who have been hit by a deep loss, to understand why loved ones will be remembered, and names will not be extinguished from being mentioned. This is for the person who has gone through loss, to see normalcy that we face many of the same grief journeys in our recovery to find joy in the morning. It's for pastor's, counselors, teachers, extended family, and your neighbors.
Kiss Goodbye: The Story of God's Presence in the Dark Night is a very personal look of loss and deep sorrow, yet, the message of God's healing shines much brighter. It's a strong reminder to store treasures of eternal value that will not perish and despite life's challenges and heartaches, God is Sovereign, an has a purpose for our lives, from the very beginning to the the very end.
