Kwatee

In Kwatee, author R. Allen Downey creates a haunted world on the high seas that is as wicked as it is entertaining. With a robust prose and a fast pace, this novel stretches the boundaries of the imagination and proves to be a thrilling, intense ride. WWII shipyard welder and Wiccan priestess Branwen Morgan immediately senses something eerie about her latest assignment. Though she can’t exactly put her finger on it, there is something supernatural and something evil—she can feel it. As fate beckons her forth, Branwen embarks on clandestine midnight surveillance only to enter a world she never knew existed. Thrust into a silent, seething aura that mutes its prey, Branwen must find a way to fight Captain George Swan and his zombie-like crew as they build the perfect ship—perfectly ominous and perfectly deadly.

Where's the next one? This book is so awesome. Everything from the character development to the historical facts right down to the discriptions of places I'd only heard about! This was a page turner and one that kept you on the edge waiting to see what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this author!

5highly recommend  Jan 08, 2006
By Patricia B. Dudenhoeffer
I enjoyed reading this book very much. The characters were colorful. I looked forward to finding out what they would say next. I found the inside information about Wicca to be very enlightening. The historical details throughout easily transported me to a different time.

The story was believable with a stretch of the imagination. Even my concerns about the "source humans" were answered by the end of the book. It's the kind of book you would want to read many times.
